Women Issues - Domestic Violence Against Women

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

By Michael Russell If we remember the medieval history of the world, there were valiant knights who saved damsels in distress. Remember Sir Arthur and Knights of the Round Table? In today’s world a women gets molested and harassed domestically as well as in workplace and these issues go without any notice. Domestic violence sometimes even takes place right in public places. We feel sorry for the poor lady but we just go on with our lives. Where have all those knights gone? How much do these damsels require knights now? The reason for such violence widespread against women is beyond reasoning. This type of violence is not just limited to poor people living in third world countries but it is prevalent in the developed world as well. Why women are subjected to such violence and by whom they receive this treatment from needs to be researched upon so those women can be given solutions. Just because men are labelled as stronger sex does not mean that they have to control and mistreat the weaker sex. The bible talks about the creation of Eve after Adam. Since then, Eve has been thought of as Adam’s toy, and all the Adams after him have become harsher to Eve by devising more and more cunning ways to abuse her. Can this be the fault of their hormones? Dominating males have made sure that their chauvinistic process will keep the women living on a meager existence as second grade citizens. During the passage of time, gross injustices against women were abolished one by one. Take for example the child marriages and sati system of India. Widows are now allowed to remarry instead of being forced to spend their lives in confinement wishing their lives away. Domestic violence has also become a punishable crime yet violence against women continues under the radar. The independent modern woman is college educated, has a good income, is self-supporting, and can go wherever she wants. However, the respect she deserves still eludes her. The population of men who support their women full-heartedly is very less compared those who support their women grudgingly. There is something about the male ego that finds it difficult to accept that women can be their equal and that they can them the respect that they deserve. The media can be partially blamed too, for they have corroded the values, morals, and ethics that are necessary to establish respect for women. Instead of respecting women for their intelligence, the media portrays them as objects of lust. For the sake of ratings, the media promotes the dilemma of women in exchange for her vanity, integrity, a feeling of being wanted, and false pride. Many women fall for these tricks. One thing is for sure: if the modern woman wants to get the respect she deserves and wants to stop the violence against her, she must wake up to these tricks, for she has a hard and hazardous road in front of her and her kind. Any Objections to “Happy New Year” Anybody?

Monday, July 30th, 2007

By Susan Yurek This article was written on Christmas night after a very happy family day. With all the highly publicized fighting and squawking in 2005 about what others should or should not say during this season of peace, let’s try something different next year! Let’s acknowledge greetings from strangers, friends and acquaintances, with a heartfelt greeting in return! Non-Christians, when a Christian smiles and wishes you a Merry Christmas, try wishing him or her a Merry Christmas too. No statements, no issues, just wish their Christmas well. Christians, when greeted with “Happy Holidays”, simply wish “Happy Holidays” in return. Return good wishes for Eid, “Happy Hanukkah”, “Feliz Navidad”, or whatever good greetings you are fortunate enough receive. And … If someone took the time and spent the postage to send you a greeting card, send warm wishes back in whatever form of goodwill expresses you best! (While current political decisions may be controversial, the White House Christmas Card was in fact beautiful, thoughtfully selected, and perfectly tasteful.) This is not complicated. Holiday greetings are expressions of kindness and wishes for peace, no matter what faith or culture created them, and we are blessed for them. Constructive activism is a great strength, but not when it becomes rude and personal. We are strengthened by our diversity, but weakened when we deny other points of view; especially when we try to deny others the joy of celebrations that have deep meaning to them and their families. So next year, instead of combative rudeness and public protestations, try being polite and civilized by sharing this marvelous Season of Peace, which belongs to everyone. Then just smile, move on, and enjoy your own family celebrations in the natural happiness of these holiday seasons. (P.S.) There is no perfectly trendy holiday table display worth excluding lonely family members due to lack of place settings. Denise says: A little short? Put away the fancy china and stack the chinettes…make anyone and everyone in your life welcome at your table! Deeper Love

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

By Tony Tate As I was going through one of the toughest times of my life. I learned a great deal about the Lord, myself, and how to survive. My marriage began to fall apart. It seemed really sudden. We always had disagreements and arguments but they always seemed to get worked out. Then I had to travel out of town for a week. In that weeks time my life was turned upside down. When I returned everything was different. My wife was giving me the cold shoulder. Then she started staying out all night. I couldnt talk to her. If I tried it turned into an argument. When I tried to get help from the pastor of the church it only made things worst. I was devastated, frightened, physically suffering from the effects of the situation. I prayed. I sought Gods wisdom. I wanted my marriage to be the way it was. If you have never experience the end of a relationship that you thought would last until you died you have not experienced pain. I wondered why. I went through extreme anger and finally gave up my desire to be in the marriage. I knew what I was supposed to do. Love, but I didnt know how. As I sought the answers from the scriptures I realized that Jesus was faced with the same dilemma. The bible says that he came to his own and they didnt recognize him. They rejected him. The more he told them of Gods love and how God had sent into the world to save it, the more they hated him and wanted to kill him. Finally the time came when they would kill him. Jesus, the king and creator of the Heavens and the Earth is being rejected by his own creation. They convicted him in a mock trial steeped in false accusations and false witnesses. He was beaten beyond recognition and then crucified. During the entire ordeal he maintained his love for men (for me). If he had not gone through this there would be no salvation for men. It wasnt as if they forced him. He didnt try to run or hide. He was there intentionally. He was there to die. He was driven by love. That love was for me. He did this knowing that millions, even billions throughout time would still reject him. As the Lord showed me these things I was able to see that I wasnt the first to ever be rejected. I was not the first one to ever suffer because of people. I never faced death. If Jesus was able to face all these things for my sake then I was willing to face them also. I wanted to handle my circumstances the way Jesus handled his. He didn’t hate or get angry. He didnt retaliate. The bible says he could have called 12 legions of angels to rescue him. He chose instead to endure the pain and suffering for a people who rejected him. That is love. And that is the kind of love I desire to have. Watching how Jesus handled himself in such a difficult time and realizing how much love he must have for me made me want to love in the same way. I was angry at my wife. I was angry enough sometimes to want to do physical harm to her. Through the love of God that had been born in me I was able to let go of my anger. I prayed more. I prayed differently. I no longer pray that her love for me would return but, that my love for her would grow. This and other revelations helped me get through that time. The marriage never came back together. It was my desire but it didnt happen that way. If you are reading this, pray for me. I now have to make it through this time. I live alone. I dont see my kids as often as Id like. There are no court orders or restrictions. It is hard because of work and money. I am sad a lot. I may even be depressed. I still believe God. I trust Him. I am missing something though. I cant seem to get on track. To be in a relationship with the Lord means to be alive spiritually. It starts with repentance, a prayer asking for forgiveness of your sin, and allowing God through His Son Jesus to enter your life and take control. Watch and see how I do it at: weAre arriving Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Tony_Tate http://EzineArticles.com/?Deeper-Love&id=525941 son this impregnates here mom take incest is incest who stories many pics since son them pictures then videos over galleries under xxx him father which daughter him incest only free since incest through movies came

Mortgage Marketing and Advertising - The Magical Ingredient

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

By Jeffrey Nelson Do you offer superior service, consistently close loans on time and overall are more adept than your competitors, yet youre struggling to figure out the mortgage marketing and advertising puzzle? For many loan officers, marketing is a real puzzle. Your expertise is in pricing loans, closing them on time and rendering quality service. Youre not necessarily an expert at how to attract more new clients, especially from real estate agents, where most of the purchase transactions occur daily. If your mortgage marketing and advertising strategy doesnt have real estate agents lined up at your door begging to use your services, chances are you’re missing the magical ingredient - the ingredient that magnetizes agents. Too often, loan officers chase agents for deals. And when you chase agents, theyll always feel they have the upper hand in the relationship, poised to take advantage of you or be over demanding in their expectations. Does this sound familiar with any of your past experiences dealing with these kind? How do you reverse this pattern? Whats involved with getting them to chase you? It begins with relationship building, and of course, thats what your business is about, isnt it? Ideally, your strategy should reflect the major processes of relationship building; lead generation, client acquisition and client retention. Understanding each of the processes is the easy part, executing them to get the results you want is more challengingunless of course, you know the magical ingredient. Most Agents you meet today arent ready to do business with you because youre a stranger. Remember growing up, the phrase mommy coined, stranger-danger. You were told stay away from strangers, dont accept anything from strangers. Gee, is it no wonder why our defensive guard is immediate when we meet someone that we dont know for the first time. Lets not fault Agents for feeling the same way. Theyre human too, well, most of them anyway. Whats it take to get a stranger to become your friend? The same thing it took when you met your best friend. When the two of you first met you werent instantly best friends, the relationship grew over time. Thats obvious, but what does it have to do with Agents? Its not like were real anxious to make them our best friends. It has everything to do with Agents. Both, the Agent and your best friends needs are similar. Familiarity, comfort, and trust are the seeds to growing a relationship. So how can your marketing turn strangers into friends, friends into clients and clients into loyal clients (best friends)? Lets get back to learning about the magical ingredient. Since most Agents you want to attract to your business are strangers, your first goal is to establish familiarity. They have to get to know and trust you before theyll do business with you. Dont make the mistake that every other loan officer commits, by directly confronting Agents and soliciting them, a.k.a. cold calling. Good, Im glad to hear you dont like cold calling because you shouldnt do it. Its the most difficult way to attract relationships. OK, Im getting to the point, enough dragging this out. The magical ingredient that most loan officers are missing in their marketing is the same ingredient that gets a political candidate elected to public office. No, I dont mean the lying and cheating part, Im talking about what they do up to Election Day. They campaign! The magical ingredient to your success in becoming an Agent Magnet is campaigning. A campaign is a connected series of messages corresponded over time designed to bring about your most wanted response. Its what drives your message, keeps it in front of the prospect, and sustains it long enough for the prospect to take the action you most desire. Let me briefly cover what a campaign isnt. A campaign isnt sending out a postcard and getting an Agent to pick up the phone and call you, thats called an advertisement. A campaign isnt sending an email message or calling an Agent every once in awhile to check in on how theyre doing or learning if they have a deal for you thats called desperation. Now dont lose the wind in your sails. Theres more to campaigning than you realize. Campaigning is what moves each process of relationship building forward. Remember the three processes; lead generation, client acquisition and client retention. You need campaigns to match each process. The three specific campaigns that should make up your marketing strategy include: - Teaser Campaign - Top of Mind Awareness Campaign - Client Loyalty Campaign Each campaign serves different purposes with preplanned desired responses to move the Agent through the relationship building process. You need campaigns to match up with each process. Its a form of action, nothing moves without action. Joining the Military? (You Better Think Twice)

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

By Zach Bashore For some reason many bodybuilders join the military. Is it for the money, the patriotism for their country, or is it just a job that keeps you in shape? These are just a few of the reasons but the real question is why would would you want to do such a thing? The military is NOT a place to be wandering around in. You have to have a motive to be there or you`re going to regret ever signing up. During training, you sometimes go days without sleep, food, and even water. You`re almost guaranteed to overtrain sometime, not only during basic, but during the extreme lifestyle you`ll be living fighting in a war. Talk about being in catabolic mode. This is the exact opposite of what us bodybuilders need to be doing. When you`re in the military, you no longer exist as an individual. You belong to whatever branch of service you`re in and are basically consider a number. Bodybuilding is the exact opposite. In this sport, almost everything you do is by yourself and most of us don`t depend on other people like you do in the service. Most Bodybuilders are also very nice people. We may look mean but most of us act very humbly around others. People from all areas of life join the military. Some do it as an escape from their troubled lives, some because of their financial status, and many other reasons. What some don`t realize is what the military is all about. People are dying simutaneously in Iraq and you are risking your lives if you join. You also have to consider the fact you`re going to be away from your family and friends and will be around new people that you probably won`t even like. I`m not trying to keep you from joining but I don`t want you guys to make the same stupid mistake I did. We are more than slaves to the government. We are slaves to ourselves and that is how it should be. Now don`t get me wrong. If you`ve joined for your country I have nothing but respect and I salute you. Until my next article. PEACE! History Of The Humble Cupcake

Monday, July 16th, 2007

By Brock Hamilton Cupcakes are special dessert treats that have been around since the early 19th century. They have been spreading delight and enjoyment for over a full century and they are still going strong, maybe stronger than ever now. History shows that cupcakes really came about due to measuring tools and what was the most practical manner in which to bake. In fact, much of what was eaten when cupcakes were first invented was created in smaller portions. Portions today are sometimes actually two or three times what a single portion should be. For some reason as time has gone by, we have continued to super-size everything, including cupcakes which are now large varying sized cakes: double layered, tripled layered, full-sheet, and so forth. Because cupcakes have been around for such a long period of time it is not surprising that they have become a widely enjoyed, widely hailed dessert treat. Big companies such as Hostess, for example, have created their versions of cupcakes with Ding-dongs and Twinkies. Other such companies have followed suit creating a wide assortment of miniature sized cake treats. The popularity of cupcakes continues for many reasons. They are proportionally one serving size. They are easy to carry and pack. They are convenient and easy to clean up after. There is versatility in the packaging, decorating and shapes. Cupcakes were first made in muffin tins and now they can be made in cupcake tins that have special shapes like hearts, stars, and so many more options! It is amazing to think back and realize that the origin of the cupcake is that it actually was a cake! It makes one wonder with time why we might have decided to bake larger cakes? Possibly it could to have been to have more decorating options, to be able to serve more people at one time, or a plethora of other possibilities. The cupcake has become such a large part of this countrys dessert staple that people not only still bake them, bakeries bake them, and some even go so far as to specialize in the sole production of them. Companies will produce products made specifically for them, i.e. cupcake pans, cupcake decorations, and other such cupcake items. Organizations will have cupcake bake sales, birthday parties will still often have a spread of multi-colored cupcakes abound, and oftentimes cupcakes are even brought to the office! There is just something intrinsically different about cupcakes. They are small petite packaged desserts that make people feel like a kid again. Maybe its because they are small and individually wrapped and decorated. Maybe its because they just seem to make you smile. If you hand one to even the most masculine of men, suddenly he looks like a little boy again. The little treat suddenly makes him seem more like an approachable teddy bear. Truly, there is just something about cupcakes that make them a universally enjoyed treat. Children and adults love them equally. They are a treat that will continue to be enjoyed for decades to come! Develop Your Own Referral Network

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

By Diana D’Itri Business alliances are valuable bridges that can be used to reach new customer audiences. These alliances are typically like-minded businesses that serve the same audience demographic but offer separate, complimentary non-competing services or products. A business, recognizing the importance of nurturing existing client relationships, typically develops a firm foundation of client trust. These clients need other services. With a business referral network, not only does your business benefit from the added exposure offered through this network, but your clients benefit as you are providing an important service to them as well. By giving your customers access to preferred vendors who may offer value added discount incentives, you are saving your clients time and money, and what could be more valuable to them than that? Certain professions in particular have a responsibility to recommend other professionals to their clients. A dentist, for example, even the best dentist, doesnt make it a practice to perform oral surgery, thats reserved for the oral surgeon. So it makes perfect sense that the dentist would recommend a qualified oral surgeon to his or her patient when the need arises. Similarly, a general practitioner wouldnt think of performing brain surgery or offer cancer treatment to his valued patients. Many doctors refer other specialized doctors based upon the needs of their patients and this is an extremely common and necessary practice in the medical field. But the medical field is not the only industry that benefits from developing proactive B2B referral relationships. Some other businesses that benefit from this type of synergistic relationship may include: a realtor offering a recommendation to a mortgage broker a website designer referring a website hosting company a restaurant referring a florists valentine promotion a home builder recommending a landscaper a plastic surgeon suggesting a cosmetic dentist a hotel wedding coordinator referring a DJ or musician a financial planner recommending an insurance agent Your recommendation to a trusted alliance business partner is greatly appreciated by your customers. Most everyone appreciates even the smallest comfort level offered through a referral, especially when searching for important service providers. Letting your fingers do the walking through miles and miles of advertisers in the yellow pages is a scary proposition when you need a new home loan or a plumber to fix a serious leak. When considering an important decision like who to call for medical care, home repair, personal services etcchoosing a service provider from an advertisement is really no better than a crap shoot. At least a referral, even one that comes from a 2nd or 3rd tier source, is better than no recommendation at all. There are two major benefits associated with referring pre-qualified associate partners 1. You offer a service to your valued customers by helping supply a need 2. You get more business as your partners reciprocate the favor and recommend you to their customers. The latter is called cross promoting. Cross-promotional strategies allow your business to have access to a warm market that could never be reached any other way. Email offers a simple, cost effective way to facilitate the process of referring and getting referred. Not only does email make it easier to introduce your clients to your referral partners and vice versa, but with the right tools you can also measure and track the success. This referral growth success is realized through your own customer base as well as the customer base offered through your alliance business partners. By piggybacking on mutually beneficial business relationships, your exposure increases while your ad spend decreases. The more referrals you get, the less you have to advertise. Aligning yourself with synergistic qualified business professionals is a win-win scenario, not only for you and your referral partners, but for your valued customers as well.
